Iran Conmine: A Premier Event in the Mining Industry

The Iran Conmine Exhibition is one of the most significant events in the mining industry across Iran and the region. Held annually, the exhibition aims to showcase the latest advancements in mining, introduce cutting-edge technologies, and create business opportunities for industry stakeholders.  

As the event approaches, we sat down with Mohammadreza Bahraman, President of the Iranian Mining House, to discuss the importance and details of this pivotal exhibition.  

Exhibition Details  

Bahraman highlighted that the 18th International Exhibition on Mining, Mineral Industries, Mining Machinery, Road Construction, and Related Industries (Iran Conmine) will take place from November 23 to 26 at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground.  

He added, *"A key feature of Iran Conmine is its comprehensive coverage of all activities related to the mining sector in the country. Our goal is to familiarize attendees with the latest global advancements and trends in the mining industry."*  

Bahraman emphasized that the exhibition’s target audience includes mining professionals, policymakers, university students, and academics specializing in mining.  

He further stated, *"One of our primary objectives is to provide a platform for interaction and collaboration among industry players. By gaining deeper insight into each other’s challenges, needs, and capabilities, we can achieve significant growth in domestic production and the realization of local manufacturing."*  

Over its 18 editions, the event has consistently focused on supporting and promoting domestic manufacturers. Today, a substantial portion of the mining sector's needs is met through locally produced goods.  

Mining's Strategic Role in the Seventh Development Plan  

Commenting on the commencement of Iran’s Seventh Development Plan, Bahraman noted the pivotal role of the mining sector, stating, *"The year 2025 marks the beginning of a new chapter for the nation’s mining industry. With a targeted 13% growth rate for this sector under the Seventh Plan, this year’s Iran Conmine must serve as a strategic event, outlining a clear roadmap for the industry’s development. During the exhibition, we need to define practical, operational, and executable growth strategies."*  

He revealed that numerous specialized sessions will be held throughout the exhibition to explore actionable solutions for achieving the 13% growth target.  

Focus Areas and Key Challenges  

Bahraman underscored the importance of infrastructure in enabling growth, with human resource development as a critical component. He stated, *"During this event, we will address human resource-related issues and challenges, as well as market dynamics. Additionally, exploration activities will be a central topic of discussion at Iran Conmine."*  

The exhibition will also highlight the modernization of mining machinery and the sector’s current needs.  

Expansion of Exhibition Space  

Bahraman announced the addition of three halls to this year’s exhibition space. He clarified, *"Our aim is not merely revenue generation; rather, we strive to provide a conducive environment for the growth and development of the mining sector. Despite the increased space, the exhibition continues to face overwhelming demand from companies eager to participate. Unfortunately, due to space limitations, we cannot accommodate all applicants. This high level of demand underscores the growing importance and impact of this event on the mining industry and related enterprises."*
